Upcoming changes to comp golf at Cowra Golf Club

Starting Monday 22nd September, there are some big changes coming to Comp Golf at Cowra Golf Club.

The TL;DR version is that Competition will be available every day of the week!
While there will not be any changes to the current competition formats on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, all other days of the week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) will be combined into one ‘Rest of Week’ Competition. This will consist of an 18 Hole Medley comp and a separate 9 Hole Medley comp.
Rest of Week Competition Details
- • Competition will run Monday to Sunday, with results published Sunday evening/Monday morning.
- • A tee sheet will be available (the Sunday at the end of the week) for bookings, covering every day. Tee times are flexible, but please put your name down on the sheet so we know you’re coming.
- • Unlimited attempts – play as many times as you like (comp fee applies each time), your best score will count for the overall result and if you want, we will upload your second best score to your handicap as well.
- • Men can play on Wednesday’s outside of the Ladies Comp tee times (either 30 mins before or 30 mins after ladies tee blocks)
- • Prizes and ball sweeps straight onto your Pro Shop account.
- • Medley Competitions – Both the 18 and 9 Hole comps will be Medley comps without grades (unless numbers grow significantly). Men and women play for the same prize pot.
Competition Rules
- • Cannot play more than one comp round in one day (i.e cannot play 18 and 9 hole comp on the same day, or two 9 holes – first round would be classed as practice on the course before the second round)
- • Cannot play either 9 hole or 18 hole “Rest of Week Comp” on organised competition days of Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday.
- • 9 Hole Comp is off the same nine for the whole week. Swaps week-a-bout.
- • Players MUST play with another member who is also playing in the comp. No player can complete holes on their own (but a 9 hole player could join an 18-hole group at halfway for example)
- • Players MUST report to the starter prior to teeing off to pay and collect a scorecard. For example, players are not permitted to tee off before the Pro Shop opens.
- • Players are to bring their scorecards to the Pro Shop upon completion, or leave them under the Pro Shop door if finishing after the Pro Shop closes.
- • Competition OPENS Monday morning. Closes Sunday evening.
